Easily adaptable for home learning. This is a set of resources to introduce and cover numbers from 1 – 100. There is a lengthy PowerPoint (76 slides) that covers initially 1 – 10 and then 11 – 20, followed by lots of practice activities. The numbers up to 100 are then introduced in stages. The PowerPoint has a whole range of activities, which are accompanied by a 6-page worksheet, a word search sheet and a Sudoku sheet. The activities include sums, number patterns and sequences, match-ups, true/false activities and oral practice. A great way to introduce numbers and build up to some challenging activities; ensuring the comprehension and use of all numbers up to 100.

This is a set of 28 question cards and 28 answer cards to get your pupils speaking to each other in Spanish and great to use as starters for target language practice. They include questions about name age, likes, favourites, preferences, family, daily routine, and many more. These fun colourful cards can be printed and cut into individual question and answer cards to be used in several different ways, depending on the ability and confidence of your students: Both question and answer cards can be given to students in pairs to practice a conversation. (Easier level) Question cards only given to pairs to practice a conversation. Students will need to form their own answers. (Middle level) Students are only given the answer cards and need to use these to form the relevant questions. (Harder level) It is essential that pupils can ask questions (not just answer them). This fun Easter resource gives lots of information about Easter traditions in France in English. It then goes on to introduce 10 Easter related words in French, followed with a match-up activity, anagrams and a word search. Pupils are then asked to make a French Easter card, with lots of examples and there are 5 templates that can be printed and used. Each template has ‘Joyeuses Pâques’ and an Easter picture to colour. There are also two further Easter pictures to colour. The resource finishes with a quiz (and answers included) about what they have learnt from the PowerPoint. Happy Easter!

This is a PowerPoint of over 650 words, essential vocabulary for GCSE. There are 64 slides of vocabulary and 12 words/phrases per slide. Each word/phrase comes on to the screen one at a time and all vocabulary is in French only. The vocabulary in quite a random order, as it would be to pupils when they hear or read texts in the listening and/or reading exams. It is really useful to recap what vocabulary they know, and then get pupils to record vocabulary that is new to them. You can then go back next lesson to those slides to confirm what they have retained. It can also be use in a competitive way, in teams to see which team knows the most vocabulary. However you use it, it covers a very wide range of essential vocabulary, a key to successful revision at GCSE level.

The resource is easily adaptable if you want to introduce less. Articles and gender are also introduced and there is some practice of changing from un/une/ des to le/ la/ les/ l’ with grammar explanations. There is a range of activities on the PowerPoint and on an accompanying worksheet. The activities include speaking practice and repetition, match-ups, gap-fills, anagrams, a listening comprehension, grammar activities and writing opportunities. This is a fun printable dictionary for pupils to use as a reference and also to record the French vocabulary they are learning during their studies. It starts with six reference pages, which include the vocabulary for: numbers 1 – 100; colours; days, months, seasons; weather; time and animals. Following this are 26 pages, each has a letter of the alphabet, with example words for each letter and the rest of the page is left blank for students to fill in as they go along. There are also some completely blank pages at the end if students fill up an alphabet page. This can all be printed in black and white and the pages can be put in a duotang or made into a booklet.

This document is in the format of worksheets/ a booklet that can be given to all GCSE students. It is broken down into themes and then into the topics within each theme. For each topic there are 10 translation exercises, as on the Reading Exam. It is contains in total 120 translations of varying lengths and levels of challenge. The translations have been created carefully and are in line with exam board exemplar materials. This could be used by pupils at the end of teaching each topic/ sub-theme in order to test/ check understanding and to practise translation skills or used for wider translation purposes.

This pack has two PowerPoints that explain how to put past perfect tense verbs in to the negative form. The first PowerPoint goes through forming the negative with n'/ne and pas for all verbs except reflexives. It then goes on to introduce ne ... rien/ jamais/plus/que. Each section has a range of exercises to complete and there is a worksheet to accompany the PowerPoint. These exercises include a reading comprehension and transition exercises, important to start early on, ready for the new GCSE specifications. The second PowerPoint follows a very similar format for reflexive perfect tense verbs and has exercises to complete. This resource introduces students to reflexives verbs in the past perfect tense and gives a step-by-step method of how to form the perfect tense of reflexive verbs. The slides contain grammar notes that students can note in their exercise books and use as a reference for all future work using these verbs. There are a wide range of exercises to complete, as well as a reading comprehension and a writing task. There is a worksheet that accompanies the PowerPoint. There is also a separate worksheet with translation exercises into English and into French. This is a tried and tested method to ensure comprehension and the ability to confidently form the perfect tense with reflexive verbs.
